Hi @bnkwilly,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Photosmart e-All-in-One printer is spontaneously printing pages with the message "get/devmgmt/productstatusdyn.xml ht," it's likely a communication issue or a problem with the printer's configuration. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue.

  • Cancel Print Jobs: First, cancel any pending print jobs in the print queue on your computer to stop the unwanted printing.
  • Check for Malware: Scan your computer for malware or viruses that might be sending print jobs to your printer. Ensure your computer is secure.
  • Printer Firmware Update: Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Visit the HP support website, enter your printer's model number, and download and install any available firmware updates.
  • Network Connection: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your network. Check if it's connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and that the connection is stable.
  • Wireless Security: If your printer is connected wirelessly, make sure your Wi-Fi network is secured with a strong password to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Printer Reset: Try resetting your printer to its default settings. This can usually be done through the printer's control panel or settings menu. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to reset it.
  • Reinstall Printer Drivers: Uninstall and then reinstall the printer drivers on your computer. Make sure you download the latest drivers from the HP website.
  • Printer Configuration: Check the printer's settings to ensure that no one has inadvertently configured it to print pages automatically. Look for any unusual settings in the printer's control panel or web interface.
  • Firewall and Security Software: Check your computer's firewall and security software settings to ensure they are not blocking legitimate print jobs.
  • Password Protection: If your printer has the option to set a password for printing, consider enabling it to prevent unauthorized print jobs.
  • Change Wi-Fi Password: If you suspect unauthorized access, change your Wi-Fi network password to prevent further unwanted printing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Same problem here: Windows 11 Pro 22H2. HP Photosmart 7760. Admittedly a very old model, but worked fine until recently. And I still buy HP printer cartridges, so HP still makes money from my usage of this printer. Unfortunately, your standardized answer was not helpful at all. All the points mentioned above are fine (inspecting the print queue there is nothing, no malware on the system, all Windows updates installed etc). HP printer driver update - as you recommend - cannot be done, as HP removed drivers for this model from the download area. Instead there is a recommendation to use HP Print&Scan Doctor, but this fails as well. Is there still any support for this model, or none? Any ideas except throwing the printer into the garbage?
