Hi @Winnie07,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer is printing hours after you send a print job, the issue could be related to several factors, such as network connectivity, print queue settings, or driver problems.
Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Restart the Printer and Devices
- Turn off the printer and unplug it for at least 1-2 minutes.
- Restart your computer and router.
- Plug in the printer and turn it back on.
- Retry printing after all devices are powered back up.
2. Check the Print Queue
- On your computer, go to the Devices and Printers section (on Windows, this can be found in the Control Panel).
- Right-click on your HP ENVY Photo 7855 and select See what's printing.
- Ensure there are no stuck print jobs. If there are, cancel all print jobs and try printing again.
- If the printer is set to print in offline mode, disable it.
3. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Make sure the printer driver is up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support page for the ENVY Photo 7855.
- If the driver is up to date, consider uninstalling and reinstalling the printer driver.
4. Set the Printer as the Default Printer
- Ensure that the HP ENVY Photo 7855 is set as your default printer. Sometimes, print jobs are sent to another device by mistake.
- Go to Devices and Printers, right-click on the printer, and select Set as default printer.
5. Check for Network Issues
- If you're using Wi-Fi, check the signal strength and ensure that the printer is connected to the correct network.
- If possible, try connecting the printer using an Ethernet cable to see if the issue persists.
- Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi using the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer control panel.
6. Disable "Print Spooler" Restart Delays
- Go to Services on your Windows computer (press Win+R and type services.msc).
- Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click, and select Restart.
- This action clears the spooler and can help resolve delayed printing issues.
7. Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. Firmware updates can resolve bugs related to delayed printing.
- You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP website.
8. Direct USB Connection
- If possible, try printing via a direct USB connection to see if the issue is related to network latency.
Refer to this document: HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
