Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
If you're experiencing issues where only some pages of a document print on your HP Color LaserJet Pro M281fdw, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:
1. Check the Print Queue
- Open the Print Queue: Go to Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer, and select See what's printing.
- Clear the Queue: If there are any stuck jobs, cancel them and try printing again.
2. Check Document Settings
- Print Range: Ensure that you're not accidentally selecting a specific page range. In the print dialog, set the page range to "All" if needed.
- Print Settings: Double-check any specific settings that might limit printing (e.g., printing only odd or even pages).
3. Update Printer Drivers
- Download the Latest Drivers: Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer.
4. Check for Software Issues
- Use a Different Application: Try printing the document from a different application (e.g., print a PDF in Adobe Reader instead of a web browser).
- Test with Different Documents: Print a variety of documents to see if the issue persists across all files.
5. Printer Firmware Update
- Check for Firmware Updates: Go to the HP Support site and check if there are any firmware updates for your printer model.
6. Check Toner Levels
- Monitor Toner Levels: Low toner levels can cause incomplete printing. Check the toner levels through the printer's display panel or HP Smart app.
7. Inspect the Printer
- Check for Paper Jams: Ensure there are no paper jams or misfeeds that could interrupt the printing process.
- Clean the Printer: Dust and debris can affect print quality. Refer to the user manual for cleaning instructions.
8. Restart Printer and Computer
- Power Cycle: Turn off the printer and unplug it for a minute. Restart your computer as well, then power on the printer again.
9. Reset Printer Settings
- Restore Factory Settings: If none of the above work, consider resetting the printer to factory settings. This can often resolve persistent issues.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
