Hi @Brian0918 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're dealing with a frustrating error on your HP Officejet Pro 8610. Error code 0xc19a0023 is related to the printhead and ink system.

Here's what you can try to troubleshoot this issue:

1. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the wall.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  • Check if the error clears.

2. Remove and Reseat the Printhead

  • Open the printer's access door to expose the printhead.
  • Remove all the ink cartridges and set them aside on a clean surface.
  • Lift the printhead latch and carefully remove the printhead.
  • Inspect the printhead and clean the electrical contacts using a lint-free cloth slightly moistened with distilled water.
  • Reinsert the printhead and ensure it's seated correctly.
  • Reinsert the ink cartridges.
  • Close the access door and check if the error persists.

3. Clean Ink Cartridge and Printhead Contacts How to Clean Printer Heads: A Guide to Better Ink Efficiency

  • Power off the printer and remove the power cord.
  • Remove the ink cartridges and printhead.
  • Clean the gold-colored contacts on the cartridges and printhead with a lint-free cloth.
  • Let them dry completely and reinstall everything.
  • Power the printer back on.

4. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

Sometimes firmware updates fix error codes:

  • Go to the HP Support website, search for your printer model, and check for available firmware updates.
  • Install any available updates and restart the printer.

5. Printhead Replacement

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, your printhead might be faulty.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
