Hi @som13,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the screen on your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw printer is black and unresponsive, there could be a few potential causes for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem.

  • Power cycle the printer: Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn the printer on again. This simple step can often resolve temporary glitches.
  • Check power source and cables: Ensure that the power outlet you are using is working correctly by plugging in another device. Additionally, make sure all the power cables and connections to the printer are secure and not damaged.
  • Perform a hard reset: To perform a hard reset, turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and then press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds. After that, plug the printer back in and turn it on again.
  • Update firmware: Visit the HP support website and check if there is any firmware update available for your printer model. If there is an update, follow the instructions provided to update the printer's firmware.
  • Factory reset (caution: data loss): If none of the above steps work, you can try performing a factory reset on the printer. Keep in mind that this will reset all settings, and any customized configurations will be lost. To do a factory reset, you'll need to consult the printer's user manual for the specific steps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

According to HP Part Surfer the number for the control panel is T6B80-60101

I see them on Ebay in the US, not sure what sort of restrictions there are for parts entering China. I would be surprised if you could not find someone selling the part there.
