Hi @Blobyblib

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

If your HP DeskJet 2621 is not printing in color, here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Check Ink Levels

  • Ensure that all color cartridges have sufficient ink. You can check this from the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app.

2. Verify Color Cartridge Installation

  • Make sure the color cartridges are installed correctly. Remove the cartridges and reseat them to ensure they’re properly connected.

3. Run Printer Diagnostics

  • Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to diagnose and fix printing issues. This tool can help identify problems with the printer setup or cartridges.

4. Check Printer Settings

  • On your computer, ensure that the printer settings are configured to print in color:
    • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    • Right-click on your HP DeskJet 2621 and select Printing Preferences.
    • Ensure that "Color" is selected as the print option.

5. Update Printer Drivers

  • Make sure your printer drivers are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP support website.

6. Clean Printhead

  • Cleaning the printhead can help resolve color printing issues:
    • In the HP Smart app, go to Printer Maintenance and select Clean Printhead.
    • Alternatively, you can access this option from the printer's control panel.

7. Print a Test Page

  • Try printing a test page to see if color works. You can do this from the printer’s settings or the HP Smart app.

8. Perform a Printer Reset

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
