I am trying to print a JPG image onto glossy photo paper A4 260GSM. I am loading one sheet of the paper at a time and the paper goes through - initially it was jamming, but now I gently flex it before loading and it goes through, but no image appears. I tried loading the paper the wrong way round (glossy side up) and the image was printed, on the plain side. I have  set the values in the printing pane as shown below. Any help or advice appreciated!Screen Shot 2017-10-28 at 22.22.24.png

Hi @MercMaj,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I read your post about the photo printing issue on your Officejet printer. I am happy to look into this issue for you!

While feeding the photo paper to the input tray, you need to keep “Glossy” or print side facing down. Also, it is important to change the print settings before you print a photo. Check the settings mentioned below:

You can check detailed instructions here: HP Printers - How to Print Photos (Mac)

If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to perform a Reset Printing system on Mac:

  • Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
  • Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
  • Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
  • Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
  • Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
  • Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
  • Restart your computer and then go back to System preferences – Printers and scanners.
  • Click the “Add button” (+).
  • Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.
  • Click “Print Using...”, and then select the name of your printer (By default “Airprint” would be selected)

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,

It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.

Thanks for the helpful response. The printer settings pane now makes sense.  I still get no results on the A4 photo paper (non-HP) that I am using and I have had more paper jams with this paper. I did get a print using HP Photo paper 10 x 15 cm. Sadly, the HP paper I have is not of the necessary quality, so I guess I need to order some pro-grade HP paper to make this work. Is using non-HP photo paper normally a problem? Does the printer not like the rather thick high grade paper in A4 size? I am baffled. If the A4 paper should work, I feel like asking for a refund from the paper supplier.

Greetings @MercMaj, I am the @Chimney_83. It looks like you were interacting with @Jeet_singh, but he is out of the office today so I'll take over from here.

Thanks for the reply.

You should be able to print on non-HP paper as well, but make sure that it is compatible with your printer.

Please click here for the specifications of your printer.

Go through paper-handling specifications and then select paper tray capacities.

This would give you the supported paper thickness.

If the paper you are using is within the supported range, it should be able to print.

Let me know if this helped.
