Recently my HP 6830 stopped printing on 67# exact vellum bristol and on 52# photo paper. It pretends to print, and then spits out the blank paper.

Hi @Loretta3,
Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
As I understand, your printer does not print on photo paper.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Was it working fine earlier?
How many photo paper do you've on the tray?
Do you get any error message while trying to print the photo?
Have you set the correct print settings?
Are you able to make a copy?
Does this happen only on a photo paper?
Have you checked the specs if the paper type is supported?
If not, please check the Specification if your printer supports the paper size and type you're trying to print.
If it supports the paper type, let's try these troubleshooting steps:
Hard reset:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
For more troubleshooting steps, please refer to this article: Click Here.
Let me know how that pans out
I hope you have a good day ahead,
And feel free to ask any other queries as well,
Considering, this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.

Answering your questions, The printer worked before, but not for the past month or two. I purchased it in 2015.
I have been putting just one sheet at a ime into the paper tray of either photo paper or index stock.
There is no error message
I believe I have selected the correct settings.
When I tried printing from a copy, I had almost the same problem. it did not print the top 2/3 of the picture on the scanner, and put the bottom 1/3 at the top of the sheet of photo paper. Previously I usually got nothing printed on the photo paper, and sometimes about the final inch printed at the top of the paper. the same thing happens with the index stock
Both papers are supportedfor this printer and I had no problem in the past.
When I unplugged and then reconnected as suggest above, it did not help.
It seems to me that the paper is sticking in the rollers. It makes black streaks about 1" apart on the back side of the paper and does not move forward as the printer heads pass back and forth. Finally it ejects the paper with none or very little printing on it. Is there a way to clean or adjust the paper moving rollers?
