My Deskjet 2752e won't print- I'm getting a flashing little orange light below the screen and the power button is flashing. Also the black ink cartridge is remanufactured- does it need to be an HP cartridge? (The tricolor is original HP-I don't use tricolor ink for printing jobs)

Hi @Rich3_-,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
The flashing orange light below the screen and the blinking power button on your HP DeskJet 2752e All-in-One Printer typically indicate an issue with the ink cartridges, especially if you're using a remanufactured black cartridge. HP printers are designed to work optimally with genuine HP cartridges, and using third-party or remanufactured cartridges can sometimes lead to compatibility issues, including error lights and printing problems.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check Cartridge Compatibility:
- Ensure that the remanufactured black cartridge is compatible with the HP DeskJet 2752e.
- HP recommends using genuine HP cartridges to avoid such issues.
- Reseat the Ink Cartridges:
- Turn on the printer.
- Open the ink cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to move to the centre.
- Press down on the black ink cartridge to release it, then remove it.
- Reinsert the cartridge firmly until it clicks into place.
- Repeat the process for the tri-color cartridge if necessary.
- Close the ink cartridge access door.
- Clean the Ink Cartridge Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Remove the ink cartridges.
- Gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges and the corresponding contacts inside the printer using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
- Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinserting the cartridges.
- Plug in the printer and turn it on.
- Perform a Power Reset:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then reconnect it to the printer.
- Turn on the printer.
- Replace the Remanufactured Cartridge:
- If the issue persists, consider replacing the remanufactured black cartridge with a genuine HP cartridge.
- HP's printers are optimized for use with original HP cartridges, and using them can help prevent such errors.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
