@Joe4749, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer not shutting off!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand how frustrating it must be when your printer refuses to shut off — let’s see if we can get it sorted out quickly!

Here are a few things you can try:

Power Reset

  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer while it's still on.
  • Wait about 60 seconds — this allows the printer’s internal memory to clear.
  • Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on.

Check for Stuck Buttons

  • Sometimes, a stuck power button can cause this. Try pressing the power button a few times to make sure it’s not jammed.

Update Firmware

  • If the printer powers back on normally, check for any firmware updates through the HP Smart app or the HP website.

Hard Reset (if needed)

  • If the problem persists, you might need to perform a factory reset. Let me know if you’d like help with that!

Give these steps a shot, and feel free to reach out if the issue continues — I’m happy to help!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
