Printer lights are blinking. I’ve replaced ink, I’ve unplugged and plugged back in. Says that I’m not enrolled in instant ink when I am. Not sure what to do

@Bzeke05, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP DeskJet 4152e All-in-One Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like your HP DeskJet 4152e printer might be experiencing multiple issues related to ink and connectivity. Here are some steps to troubleshoot:

1. Identify the Blinking Lights Pattern

  • Power light blinking: Printer is processing or needs attention.
  • Error light blinking: Paper jam, low ink, or other hardware issues.
  • Wi-Fi light blinking: Connectivity issues.
  • Both Ink Lights Blinking: Ink cartridge problem.

If you see a specific pattern of blinking, refer to this.

2. Fix the Ink Enrollment Issue

Since your printer says you're not enrolled in Instant Ink when you are:

  • Go to HP SmartAccount SettingsInstant Ink to check your subscription.
  • Log in to HP Instant Ink and verify your printer is linked.
  • If your Instant Ink plan is active, try removing and reinserting the ink cartridges.

3. Check Cartridge and Reset Printer

  • Remove the ink cartridges and inspect them for damage or dirt on the contacts.
  • Clean the cartridge contacts gently with a dry cloth.
  • Power off the printer, unplug for 2-3 minutes, then plug it back in and reinstall cartridges.

4. Reconnect to HP Smart

  • Ensure your printer is connected to Wi-Fi using the HP Smart app.
  • Try removing and re-adding the printer in HP Smart.
  • Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (for Windows) or use HP’s troubleshooting tool online.

5. Factory Reset (If Needed)

  • If the issue persists, perform a factory reset:
    1. Turn off the printer.
    2. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button and the Cancel button.
    3. While holding, turn the printer back on.
    4. Wait for the reset to complete.

Let me know which step worked for you, or if you see a specific error code!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
