Hello,

My wife had accidentally been using  951XL Z20's in our HP 8600 printer so it has been regionalized to Africa and the Middle East.  I have purchased sets of Z10s (US and Canada) but it will not accept these.  I have called into HP support a month back (64 minutes total) and they sent me a new set of Z10s as well (just received today...and again the printer will not recognize them).  So I called HP again.  I have called into HP Support twice and asked/begged that they just talk me through re-regionalizing my printer) but got an offer for another set of ink or (for a $19 fee for 1 year or a $2 fee for the call via credit card) they could remote into my PC and fix it.  1) I have legal documents on my PC so no thanks to remoting in and 2) I could not believe they were willing to send me free ink cartridge's but charge me $19 for talking me through the regionalization steps.   I asked that my call be forwarded to a different tier of tech support and was told the person I was dealing with was knowledgeable, I asked to be forwarded to a supervisor and was told they dont take customer calls.  Extremely frustrating.

Please, please just send me the steps to regionalize my printer that do not involve me calling HP again.

Hi @GrnMustang,

I'd like to help!

I understand you changed the z20 ink cartridge with z10 and the printer is coming up with an error.

We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
