I replaced an HP ink cartridge with an HP ink cartridge and printer would not work afterwards.  I received error message of "Supply system problem."  I have already tried the several quick fix recommendations on HP web site and printer still does not work.

Hi @Pobrerume

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That "Supply System Problem" error has been frustrating for many HP users, especially after installing a new cartridge. Since you've already tried HP’s quick fixes, here are some additional HP-based troubleshooting steps that might help:

Step 1: Check Cartridge Authenticity & Installation

  • Ensure the cartridge is genuine HP and matches your printer model.
  • Remove the cartridge and clean the copper-colored contacts with a lint-free cloth.
  • Reinsert the cartridge firmly and restart the printer.

Step 2: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it for 5 minutes.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds while unplugged.
  3. Plug it back in and turn it on.

Step 3: Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults.
  • Restart the printer and check if the error persists.

Step 4: Check for Firmware Updates

Step 5: Try a Different Cartridge

  • If possible, test with another HP cartridge to rule out a defective unit.

Try these steps and let me know if the issue persists! We’ll get this sorted.
