I replaced the black ink cartridge on my HP Officejet Pro 6968 with a new HP 902XL black cartridge and now it won't print in black. The color cartridges work fine. I have tried cleaning the printer head multiple times and aligning the printer head. Nothing has helped.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand you are not able to print in black. I'd be happy to assist you.

 

If you have tried the steps mentioned in this document and the issue persists, it could be an issue with the new black ink cartridge or the printhead.

Please contact our HP Support team for Service Options:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

I am having the same issue but my printer is no longer under warrantee and I cannot find a number or method to contact a real person. I'm just stuck in an endless loop between this forum and the virtual agent. Please help!
