Great printer, but from day 1 it has printed red dots along the border when the paper is feeding. Doesn't matter which tray it prints from, or what kind of paper. How do I remove the dots? The printer is only 3 months old.

repetitive dots in a single color typically indicate a problem with the drum unit on the color in question, in this case magenta. You can remove the cartridge and examine the drum of the cartridge (green tube on bottom of cartridge) for any debris or damage that corresponds to the dots in placement on the page. Open a warranty case at support.hp.com to troubleshoot and request a replacement cartridge.

Thanks so much for the response. It didn't solve the problem, but at least I know now what it is and will contact HP for a replacement drum. So glad to know it is temporary!
