I have a Hp Deskjet 2635. I am currently setting it up for the first print. I followed an Hp suppourt video for how to setup the printer.
- The color ink light is blinking and the device will not print.
- I have also attempted multiple rounds of the standard unplug the device from the wall fixes.
- The device comes in multiple colors, and mine is the orangeish pink one.
- The firmware update program fails when I attempt to try and see if the issue is firmware related.
- The scanner on the printer does seem to scan, but again I cannot even get the black scan and print button to work
- Never touched any of copper connections or anything, did I buy a lemon?
- The display shows that it seems to not be able to see color or black ink.
Please help.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I see from your post that you are having issues setting up your new HP DeskJet printer. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Are you using the cartridges which were shipped with the printer?
Have you tried to clean the ink cartridge contacts?
What error do you get when trying to update the printer firmware?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a hard reset on the printer.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Remove USB cable, if present.
Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.
Next thing, I would suggest you follow the steps suggested in the support document for - HP DeskJet 2600 Printers - Blinking Lights
Alternatively, you can also go through the steps mentioned in this support document for - HP DeskJet 2600 Printers - Ink Cartridge Errors
Could you please respond to this post with the details and with the results of the troubleshooting as this will help me in further assisting you.
Eagerly waiting for your response!
that said, If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.
