Microsoft Windows 11

Black ink ran out.  Replaced with HP cartridge and got messsage, "problem with the printer or ink system".  Put the old, empty, cartfidege cack in and it said the cartridge was empty and if I wanted to print, it wouod be with color.  Changed it back to a new cartridge an got the error message above.  Bought a new black cartridge and still got the error message.  I don't see any stuff in the entry ports of the cartridge.  Help!
