I just installed new ink cartridges in my printer. Now it will only print blank pages. I’ve tried about everything I could find. What should I do?

Welcome to HP Support Forums.

I came across your post and would like to assist you.

I understand that your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 All-in-One Printer prints blank pages after installing new ink cartridges.

To assist you better please reply with the following information:

  • Did the printer go through the alignment process after installing new ink cartridges?
  • Did the printer print fine with the old ink cartridges?
  • Is the printer able to make a photocopy? If yes then it indicates that the printer and the ink cartridges are all good.
  • Are these original HP ink cartridges or refilled ink?
  • Do you have another set of ink cartridges to try with?

While you respond to that, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate and fix the issue:

NOTE: You may skip any steps that have been attempted by you already.

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
  • Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

During my research, I came across this HP document which helps in fixing various printer quality related issues. The steps from step # 2 to step # 18 should help in resolving the issue.

I sincerely hope this information helps. Please feel free to keep me posted for further assistance.

All the best!
