DeskJet 4155e
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just got a new HP DeskJet 4155e and have followed the steps to setup the printer. However, once I put the new Setup cartridges which came in the box into the printer, I got an error saying the cartridge could not communicate with the printer.
I have followed all the virtual assistant troubleshooting guides and the printer still will not recognize the setup cartridges. I have new HO 67 cartridges which I tried using, and the printer detects them, but says I must use setup cartridges to finish the setup.

Is there anyway to bypass using the Setup cartridges so I can use my printer?

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I understand you do not have the setup ink cartridges. We will have to perform an OOBE reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
