Hello I just bought this new HP 4200 e printer. It comes with a 3 month instant ink trial that just started. Configuration went smoothly and successfully but execpt the alignement page, I'm unaible to print any document. I tried the trubleshooting in HP smart and it says nothing is wrong but when I click on "print a test page" nothing happens. Even the printing history stays empty. I tried restarting both my computyer and teh printer and I also tried uninstalling the printer and installing igt again but it didn't change a thing.
Could you please help ? Is there a defect in the printer ?

update : so the printer works on my phone and on my sister's computer but not on mine despite the fact that I did the configuration on mine.
Also two printers show in the printing option : mine and HP Smart Printing. I tried both and nothing works, the printing queue stays empty.
Help ?

Hi @Kurotanart,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're facing a frustrating issue with your new HP printer. Here are some steps to help troubleshoot and potentially resolve the printing problem:
1. Check Connections
- Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. You can check the printer's display panel for network status.
- If using USB, confirm the cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
2. Check Printer Status
- Make sure the printer is set as the default printer. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners on your computer and ensure your HP 4200e is selected.
3. Print Queue
- Check the print queue to see if there are any stuck jobs. Go to the Printers & Scanners settings, click on your printer, and then click on “Open queue.” If there are any stuck jobs, clear them.
4. Update Drivers
- Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed. You can download them from the HP support website.
5. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. It can help identify and fix common issues automatically.
6. Check Instant Ink Status
- Since you're using the Instant Ink trial, make sure your account is active and that the cartridges are correctly installed. Sometimes, if there's an issue with the cartridges, it can prevent printing.
7. Check for Firmware Updates
- Make sure the printer’s firmware is up to date. You can usually check for updates in the printer’s settings menu or through the HP Smart app.
8. Factory Reset
- If nothing works, consider performing a factory reset on the printer. This option is typically found in the printer settings menu.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
