Hello.

I am having a similar problem.   I am using Windows 7.   Computer is OPTIPLEX GX620 with LPT port.    We had an old LPT to USB adapter (www.lpt2usb.com) and I believed it to be faulty.   I purchased a femal usb parralel adapter and added a gender adapter to use in LPT port.   Installed software for new HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 printer and cannot print DOS.   The original LPT to USB adapter had a need for a A/C adapter, and we were using an old one from Radio Shack.  I believed this might be faulty so I bought a new one from Best Buy.    I had to use a gender adapter on the USB part that goes into the new printer.

At about 3am this morning, using the old LPT to USB adapter and the old A/C adapter, I got the printer to work again.   Went to bed, came back to office this morning at about 9am and now the DOS program isn't printing again.

I have no idea what to do.    I am lost.   I have read and tried virtually everything I could find in forumns online.    I have unistalled and reinstalled device about 20 times.   i have deleted all but 3 temp files.   I have reconfigured LPT ports and I have trouble shooted all the pieces I have recently purchased.

I am running DOS program and cannot make that an obsolete option at this time.   I just need it to print.
