- No "Borderless" options in Photosmart 8250 in Windows 10

I have a fairly old HP Photosmart 8250. I want to print borderless A4 photos, which I have done in the past with no issue. However, I cannot find an option in Windows 10 using any program to print borderless. Using the print dialogue window, I can only select "Full Page Photo", and this leaves a small border on all sides of the paper.
I used to have options to allow borderless in the driver, but I can't find them now, not even under "Advanced" settings. There are no specific drivers for the 8250 available for download, they're meant to be built into Windows 10.
However, there doesn't seem to be a specific Photosmart 8250 driver listed in the printer driver windows - I've tried the Photosmart 7510/7520 and 6520 drivers, but none of them allow borderless printing. The drivers I used to use in Windows 7 and XP did allow borderless printing. The printer otherwise works fine.
Is there a different driver available that allows borderless A4 printing? Or should I be selecting a specific driver from the list of HP Windows 10 drivers? The printer is still performing well, even after being used for a decade, and I don't want to have to consider getting a new device simply because features seem to be removed from more up-to-date versions of the HP-provided drivers...?
Any help appreciated.

Hi @piphil,
Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! After reading your post I see that you require assistance regarding the issues with borderless printing. It will be a delight to assist you here.:)
Superb analysis and brilliant diagnosis of the issue before posting. 🙂 Kudos to you on that score. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with you. 🙂
For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this.
- Did you try the generic 990c printer drivers and check?
For now please try these steps:
- You can install the Deskjet 990c driver which would provide this capability. You could install this as follows: click Start, Control Panel, Printers and Faxes. Right Click on the HP Photosmart 8250Series, Properties, Advanced, New Driver, Next, select HP for the manufacturer and select HP Deskjet 990c as the printer, Next, Finish, Apply, General, (change the name back HP Photosmart 8250 Series or whatever you would like), OK.
Then check if you can print without borders.
- If you have difficulty to install the 990c printer driver follow the screenshots in this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Software-and-Drivers/Deskjet-1280-drivers-for-Windows-10-x64/t... and instead of selecting that printer when you come to the option HP Deskjet 990c, select that and install it. This should do the trick for you.
Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient, please. Please note that I am not overloading you with a lot of troubleshooting steps. Instead, just like you, I am eager to ensure that the problem gets resolved. So I am providing you with more resources and information at your disposal to deal with the situation better.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Hi @DavidSMP,
Thanks very much for your reply, especially on a Sunday...!
I'm not sure if I'm overlooking something obvious, but I can't find a driver for the Deskjet 990c - there are a lot of Deskjet drivers, but no mention of 990c throughout the entire list (I checked twice...).
Am I missing a driver pack or something?

OK, forget the above - the solution was in your second link. I think something went wrong the first time I tried using the "Windows Update" button, as nothing seemed to happen, but a second time it updated properly. There's now a "Photosmart 8200" option which gives the old driver interface, and the options for "Bordless Printing"!
Thanks!
