HELP

Urgently need to bypass the need for 'set-up' cartrdiges that I do not have! The printer is brand new but no set-up cartridges were included when I bought it (ex-display) I have genuine HP cartridges ready to use.

I have so much work to print can someone help please?

 @LaurenG1989,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support community!

  • Do you have any flashing lights on the printer?

Let's try these steps:

Step 1: Power Reset

  • Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector.
  • Turn the printer on.
  • Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  • Remove all of your ink cartridges from the printer and close the door.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  • Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on. The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
  • Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
  • Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.
  • Check if this bypasses the error and if you can copy from the printer.
  • If the issue persists, proceed to the next step

Step 2: Try 'Single cartridge mode'

  • Try using the printer just with 1 ink cartridge on the printer.
  • Use just black/color on the printer
  • Check if the error goes off and if you can make a copy.

Let me know what happens.

Hello

Thank you for replying. Yes I do get flashing lights on the printer. The ink light is flashing orange, with the ink display reading as two empty cartridges.

I have tried both the reset and the single ink cartridge and no luck! 😞

Any more ideas please? thank you so much.
