Tried all of the suggestions and it has put me in a worse situation than I was. 
Now it won’t reconnect to my instant ink account to my printer and won’t let me print at all until I sign up for the account which I already have and pay for. 
the status is still showing load paper (so I have a red and a yellow error message now)even though it is saying the printer is not connected to the account now. 


Can’t get any answers from HP just some annoying virtual assistant who does nothing expect to round in circles.

It’s now also saying printer requires Hp instant ink cartridges before I can print. Which it has and they are new. 
At least before I could print from another device now the reset and restore to factory settings has disconnected somehow. 
many help to solve this would be great as HP themselves have proved not helpful whatsoever. They haven’t responded to any messages even though I was advised to go via WhatsApp and Facebook messenger

Checked all network connections, even in the app in network section it says it’s connected but it is failing to connect to the instant ink account. It makes no sense

I’ve managed to kind of fix it myself, I did manage to get some guidance from HP via Facebook in the end but I had done everything they suggested anyway. 
Ive had to put photo paper in the smaller photo paper compartment, which I’ve never had to do, to stop it registering as being empty. 
then I have to toggle between the two settings on the app when printing to make sure it’s printing on the a4, again never had to do any of this before as it was happy enough to print on a4 without any photo paper being in the top compartment. 
they have escalated the issue with Hp as are unsure why it’s doing it. They are hoping a firmware update will rectify it but that’s out of their hands until it gets done. 
so it’s not fully fixed but I’ve managed to work a way around to just get what I need printed out for now. 
hope you manage to get some answers with yours.

Thank you so much! This has helped fix mine (for now!) I had exactly the same issue, couldn’t print from the app only from camera roll or laptop!! So although bizarre it’s worked!!! 🙌🏻
