I put in a new ink cartridge and now my display is stuck at "Now printing alignment page..." I unplugged, turned off, loaded new software on my computer and it is still stuck there. It still hasn't printed the alignment page but it would print a test page. How do I fix this?

@Kroeller, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Did you make any changes to your printer?
Have you tried checking with a different ink cartridge?
As you mentioned your printer is stuck on the printing alignment page.
Try replacing the low, empty or faulty ink cartridges on your printer.
Perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello TEJ1602. Unfortunately, I tried all your instructions, replaced ink, unplugged, turned off, plugged into the wall and I am still stuck with my screen stating "Now printing alignment page". I didn't make changed to my printer. I even had my Info Tech staff remote into my computer to see what the issue might be. We unloaded then reloaded the HP software. We can't get the printer to move out of the alignment issue. Any other suggestions?

Follow the steps below-
Update the printer firmware
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
If the issue persists, the only option left is to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Hope this helps!
