Product: Office jet 8610

OJ8610 printer stopped working and a diagnostic indicated the solution was to buy $100 of new HP ink. Once new ink was installed the printer decided the printhead was missing. Despite numerous attempts the 8610 never connected.  I want HP to refund my 85yo Dad's $100 for making him think new ink would fix his printer. Shameful
