HP Officejet 4500 Wireless All-in-One Printer - G510n

I have had this printer for many years. I could not find 901 inks anywhere. I found out too late that HP changed the ink cartridge number from 901 to 60. Because I needed ink, I bought three different cartridges that were not HP only to find out they would not work.

When I found out, I purchased the new cartridges but now they want work either. I get an error message. "No paper in tray". My printer is not working, and I have this expensive ink that I can't use.

Can you help me?

Hi @gphdmh123,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

Perform the following tasks in the order given. Use the printer after each task to see if the issue is resolved.

Check the paper, and then reload it

Check the paper stack for defects such as wrinkled, torn, or bent pieces that might cause a pick-up issue.

Remove any paper from the paper tray.

Remove any severely bent, wrinkled, or torn paper found in the stack.

Check for obstructions inside the paper tray. Make sure nothing blocks the paper from engaging with the rollers.

Make sure the paper stack is even on all sides.

Load the stack of paper into the paper tray.

Examples of loading paper

Close or push in the paper tray.

Select the correct paper size on the printer control panel or in the printer software.
