Carriage stuck far right position due in part to one of the cartridges that partially released from locked position.  Is there a release button for the carriage so loose ink cartridge can be removed and replaced?

Hi @TCR2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the ink carriage of your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e printer is stuck, you can try the following troubleshooting steps.

  • Power off the printer: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a minute or two before proceeding.
  • Open the ink cartridge access door: Locate the ink cartridge access door on the front of the printer. Gently open it to expose the ink carriage.
  • Check for any obstructions: Inspect the ink carriage for any foreign objects, such as bits of paper or debris, that might be causing it to get stuck. If you find any obstructions, carefully remove them.
  • Move the carriage manually: With the ink cartridge access door still open, try moving the ink carriage back and forth gently using your hand. Ensure it moves freely without any resistance. If it feels stuck, do not force it; instead, proceed to the next step.
  • Reset the printer: Perform a reset on your printer. To do this, unplug the power cord from the printer while it's still turned off. Wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn on the printer.
  • Check for firmware updates: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. Visit the official HP support website, enter your printer model (OfficeJet Pro 9015e), and look for any available firmware updates. If updates are available, follow the instructions provided to install them.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
