I am so sick of this printer! My mother also has an Officejet but a different model # and we have the same problems! See subject line.
I DO like the Instant Ink program and being able to email documents to my printer and my mother's printer, *very much*! To make the email to printer feature work we do *not* have a hardwire setup to our computers. That function works well, but we *both* have problems, when simply trying to print a document using normal print functions in software, with docs getting stuck in queue, printing partial pages with a line across them where it quits printing, and basically just being a total waste of money. The only workaround is to save docs/emails etc as .pdf and then attach to an email to my printer two feet away. That is a major PITA!
Please help me solve this nightmare. Printers are plugged directly into wall. I use Mac and iPhone and my mother uses Windows, iPad, and Android phone to print. We have problems with all of these.

Oh ya, and sometimes it prints the same unfinished printing job about three times. Sometimes when it won't print anything, then later it will print a partial copy, as in many hours later. I just downloaded the latest driver but it didn't help.

Hello, @oneofmanynames – Hope you are well 🙂
Welcome to the HP Forum! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips.
I understand you are having issues while printing to the Officejet 4630 printer. I would suggest the following steps:
For Windows OS:
Let’s first try to fix this issue using HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR). PSDR is an automated tool which can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Please go to http://hp.care/2bZ9w2q to download and run HP PSDR. Once you open the program, select your printer and click on “Fix Printing” to automatically diagnose and fix the issue.
For MAC OS X:
Try resetting the printing systes:
- Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
- Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
- Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
- Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
- Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
- Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
- Restart your computer and then go back to System preferences – Printers and scanners.
- Click the “Add button” (+).
- Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.
- Click “Print Using...”, and then select the name of your printer (By default “Airprint” would be selected)
Let me know how that goes. Good luck!
Cheers 🙂

Hello, @oneofmanynames
The above steps I mentioned will not change any settings in the printer. So please go ahead and try the same.
Let me know if those steps worked for you. If they did, that’s awesome! Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons, that’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers! Good Luck!
