Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP OfficeJet 3830 printer that is only printing blank pages.  It doesn't matter whether I'm printing from my laptop or from the printer directly (e.g., Print Quality Diagnostic page).  The color cartridge is half-full, and the black cartridge is almost empty.  I removed the black cartridge, and still pages are printing completely blank, no streaks, smudges, anything.

I ran the cleaning utilities tool directly from the printer, but this hasn't helped at all.

Since it's not not even printing directly from the printer, I don't believe this is an issue with my laptop.  I've gone through all the HP support forums related to this topic, but still haven't found anything that addresses this issue.  Running out of ideas.  Would appreciate any help I can get on this.

Hi @CT4Life,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet 3830 is printing completely blank pages, even when you print directly from the printer without using a computer, there could be several reasons why this is happening. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Check the ink levels: Make sure that the ink cartridges in your printer have enough ink. You can do this by checking the ink level indicators on the printer's control panel or by using the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.
  • Check the printhead: The printhead is part of the printer that delivers the ink onto the paper. If it's clogged or damaged, it can cause blank pages. To check the printhead, remove the ink cartridges and inspect the area where the cartridges were installed. If you see any ink buildup or debris, gently clean it with a lint-free cloth or a soft brush.
  • Run a printhead cleaning cycle: Your printer may have a printhead cleaning function that can help remove any clogs or blockages in the printhead. Check your printer's manual for instructions on how to run a cleaning cycle.
  • Check the paper tray: Make sure that you're using the right type and size of paper for your printer. If the paper is too thick or too thin, it may not be able to absorb the ink properly. Also, check that the paper is loaded correctly in the paper tray and that it's not jammed or wrinkled.
  • Check the printer driver: If you're printing from a computer, make sure that you have the correct printer driver installed and that it's up-to-date. You can usually download the latest driver from the HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I've tried all of these options, but to no avail.  I just went ahead and purchased a new printer.  This one was pretty old anyway.
