OfficeJet 3835
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had the same problem with the Officejet 3830.  The printers work with the cartridges that come with the printer.  The first time I try to change a cartridge that is running low, it tells me the new cartridge is incompatible.  The replacements are from reputable stores, and physically identical to the original cartridges.

I threw away the 3830 as it was cheaper to buy a new printer than keep buying expensive cartridges which probably would give the same error. However, from an environmental point of view, throwing away a printer every 12 months is not good.

Yes, I know how to change printer cartridges.  I don't know what to do about the printer telling me that the new cartridge is incompatible when it is the correct type.  I did wonder if the printer and cartridges are disagreeing on the global region being UK.
