Printer was working perfectly...until it suddenly wasn't. Cannot get it to print black, whether it's 'print test page', copies, emails, docs, nothing. I've tried: cleaning cartridges, fresh cartridges, tried another OfficeJet 5258 printer, switched cables, reinstalled driver, removed and reinstalled printers, shut down, restarted, etc. etc....all multiple times. Spent hours with Apple support but was told it's the printer, not the iMac.  I have seen this question, or similar, elsewhere on the HP Community but nowhere have I seen a resolution or explanation. What is happening here?

@JJM1984, Welcome to HP Support Community!

If you have already performed the steps from the document Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!
