Officejet 6000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Replaced the ink cartridges because the Officejet 6000 would not print.  It will print a color test page with a icon of a printer in the top right corner the words Windows Printer Test Page and then in the midle of the page 4 boxes with a white fill; yellow fill, blue fill, and a red fill.  that is it.  I hit a "print test page" and the paper comes out blank although the pringer shakes like the print head is moving back and forth.

Hello @Pistol_shooter, Greetings!

Thanks for accessing the HP Support Forums for extra support! I see that you are having issues while printing using the Officejet 6000. I will do my best to assist you with this issue.

I would suggest you to first check the blank ink to make sure it has enough ink. Then proceed to clean the printhead using the software installed on your computer. From your computer desktop, double-click on the printer icon, the printer assistant / solution center will open. Go to settings and navigate to print head cleaning.

I found a wonderful document which gives you step by step instruction to fix this issue. Please check: http://hp.care/2dtFaXe

Please let me know if this resolves the issue. Good luck!

Cheers 🙂

WOW, THANK YOU.  The link to the instruction on how to remove and clean the print heads was excellent.  The print head was filthy.  After doing the hot water soak and drying the print head, I reinstalled the head and cartridges and it worked fine.  Instead of doing the clean print head, I printed a couple of test pages and it was off and running.  YOU DA MAN!!!
