I am getting quite frustrated, as no matter what I try, my HP7610 will not give me the option of printing A3.
Listed below are the things I have tried -
Tried "Select Deskjet 9800 from the second list." as suggested by Gemini02- did not work
Tried Hp9800 driver, tried custom paper size and this does not work.
HP OfficeJet 7610 showing Type 3-User Mode does not seem to be available.
Can anyone help please???

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Forums.
Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system:
The following resource will help you :
http://123.hp.com/us/en/
Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.
For A3 printing, your document has to be created in A3 (e.g. Word). The page size in Word has to be A3. Once the document is created in A3, you can print to Officejet 7610 in A3. (with A3 paper loaded in the tray)
Hope that helps.

Oh disaster! Within seconds of my response my computer had an irrecoverable error (the equivalent of the old"blue screen" apparently) and it recovered itself and rebooted. Then within seconds it did it again and again. Finally had to recover the C drive to first thing this morning, only to find that when I am trying to open or save documents within other programmes it takes an age for file explorer to open, so currently restoring to three days ago to see if this will help.
When I installed the 9800 software as previously recommended by your colleague I had the same error problem and had to recover from that so from that it seems that it is the printer software causing the problem
On a different Win 10 laptop that started out as a Win 8 and was upgraded, the full software was loaded from disc and the A3 option is included and works so ??????

Hi,
Would recommend that you use the software for the printer rather than the 9800 driver.
It worked on the CD for Win 8 probably because it was supported whilst Win 10 was not on the CD (hence the reason to download).
Always good to keep a copy of the Win 10 downloaded software for situations like this.
Thanks.

Sorry, obviously unclear in my post.
One of the pieces of previous advice I obtained from the forum was to use the 9800 driver for the 7612 printer, which seemed to work for some, but in my case resulted in the serious error problem.
The software you advised me to download did give me the full range of paper sizes, but seemed to cause the identical error problem and I have had to recover my computer to resolve it. The error problem in both cases seemed to revolve around file explorer and Google Chrome. Is that of help?
My reference to the other computer related to drivers obtained and installed after the upgrade from Win 8 to Win 10. The drivers on the disk give the full A3 range of paper sizes but for some reason do not give me A3 when on my computer.
As I stand, I still do not have a printer driver that will give me A3. Would it be worth removing the printer and re-installing it again from the disk?
Everything else seems to be working ok now.

Hi,
We'd recommend that you try the following:
Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:
1. Uninstall the software in your computer
2. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)
The following resource will help you :
http://123.hp.com/us/en/
Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.
3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software
Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.
