OfficeJet 7612
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I bought an officejet 7612 just over 1 year ago and since then it has intermittently refused to print A3. That is, A3 is no longer an option when I attempt to print.

I think that the last problem occurred since windows 10 was last updated.

I have tried re-installing the software from the disk.

I have tried re-installing the driver. The driver currently installed is 'HP Officejet 7610 Series Class Driver', which came with my Officejet 7610. It says that it is an A4 driver in printer properties, but what else is there?

I have tried selecting different paper types.

I have tried reading the solutions presented when others have complained of the same thing. Nothing seems to work at present.

I am disappointed that a printer that I bought specifically for A3 printing, makes such a lousy job of doing it. Why can't HP create a decent driver that is robust enough to keep working?

Does anybody have any up to date solutions for this, please?

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

The original CD was made prior Windows 10 and therefore may cause issues...

Open the Control Panel and select Devices and Printers.

If the printer is connecte via USB unplug it now.

Right click any listed HP 7610 printer and select Remove Device, the printer should be removed, then reboot your PC.

Return to Devices and Printers, left-click any existing printer and select Print Server Properties from teh top bar.

Within the Driver tab remove any existing driver of yoru printer and click Delete / Remove, be sure to select the 2nd option to remove both driver and driver software.

Next download and install the following drivers, if you conect it with a USB do not plug the cable till being asked to so so:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL47659/mp-115382-3/OJ7610_971-2.exe

Once completing the installation check for any difference.

Please let me know how it goes,

Hi Shlomi,

No different. In fact, what you suggested I had already tried previously, although I had not deleted the driver and the software from the Print Server Properties/drivers tab. This time I did. I then rebooted, as requested.

The driver software that you supplied a link to was the same version that I had previously installed.

I found that after installing the software again the printer did not turn up in the list of printer devices and I had to go to Devices And Printers>Add A Printer.

When I did this, no extra printer was found, but I got the option to install a printer from its IP address - which I did.

After doing this the OfficeJet 7610 was again available in the Devices and Printers list.

However, when I tried to print A3 from MS Word and Adobe Photoshop the A3 option was still not available.

Any more ideas would be welcome.

Thank you.

Paul

Hi Paul,

Follow these steps to set an alternate print driver, that will overcome the problem.

From he Control Paenel select View Devices and printers.

Right click teh shown 7610 pritner and select Printer Properties.

Within the Advanced tab click teh New Driver button and follow the wizard by pressing Next.

Select HP from the Manufacturer pane, then select the HP Officejet Pro K850 model from the printers pane.

Note: if no such model is listed press Windows Update, allow the list several minutes to update and then select the K850.

Follow the steps to complete the wizard, once you aer back at the Printer Porpetries dialog press Apply and then OK.

Now try printing an A3 size.

Please let me know of any problem,

Hi Shlomi,

I ran into a problem with this.

I found the OfficeJet Pro K850 driver and downloaded it without too much of a problem. However, when I attempt to select the driver from the Printer Properties>Advanced tab and click either Apply, or OK, a box pops up which says:

"Printer Setting Could Not Be Saved. This operation is not supported."

So, I am not able to attach this driver to my printer.

I noticed when I first looked for this driver, using Windows Update there were two versions of it.  One was called OfficeJet Pro K850 (HP) and the other was called OfficeJet Pro K850 (Microsoft). I chose the HP because it is an HP printer.

When it became obvious that I could not use the driver, I looked for the Microsoft version, but it did not appear again.

Dear, you just need to download the basic driver no need to install the full driver, but if you did you will get other software from HP for free.

Just download the basic printer drivers, install it on the system if it does not detect your printer, select option i will do it later to connect the printer.

Then go to control panel remove your printer and then re-install by adding device and printer. select your printer and install it from the control panel.

once done you will get all A3 sizes and much more.

Hope you like it.
