This helped me I was told by HP community HP I had a hardware issue printer gone bad. I found my solution here after many days of online tube videos and searching HP community and performing many things following HP community post instructions. Re: OfficeJet 7612 printhead error printhead missing Solution and is Fixed. I would just like to add that the HP Officejet 7612 printer is a part of the HP Officejet 7610 (series) printer. So if anyone has an HP OfficeJet 7610 printer with a printhead error that came about all of a sudden and their printer does not appear to  have any 'hardware (mechanical issues) please follow the  instructions for the 7612 that many here on HP Community have helped people with these printers and printhead error that are helpful solutions. These are fairly simple steps to recover the printer printhead error. A reading literate child could follow these simple instructions and why HP hides these fixes from the consumer in HP support and or the product manual is beyond me but not good business practice in my opinion.
