I'm using an Office Jet 8015e all in one printer. If I am printing from a file on my PC it prints very slowly, sometimes 5 to 10 minutes to print one paper. It prints one line, waits, waits, waits, then prints another line, then waits, waits, waits. Support can't seem to help me. Has anyone else had this issue? This is my second printer. The replacement does the same thing.

Hi @Cyberone,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Printing issues like the one you're experiencing with your HP Office Jet 8015e can be frustrating. Here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.
Check Printer Settings
- Print Quality: Ensure that the print quality is not set to the highest setting unless necessary. High-quality printing can significantly slow down the process.
- Draft Mode: Try printing in draft mode to see if it speeds up the printing process.
Update Drivers and Firmware
- Drivers: Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support website.
- Firmware: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Firmware updates can fix bugs and improve performance.
Check Connectivity
- USB Connection: If you’re using a USB connection, try using a different USB cable or port on your PC.
- Network Connection: If you’re using a network connection, ensure your printer is connected to the network properly. A weak Wi-Fi signal can cause slow printing. Try moving the printer closer to the router or using an Ethernet connection if possible.
Printer Spooler Settings
- Restart Print Spooler: Sometimes, restarting the print spooler service can resolve slow printing issues. To do this:
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Find the "Print Spooler" service, right-click on it, and select "Restart".
Check for Background Processes
- Ensure there are no large background processes on your PC that might be slowing down the print job. Close any unnecessary applications and processes.
Print from a Different Application
- Try printing from a different application to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, the problem might be specific to the software you are using.
Check for Errors or Warnings
- Look for any error messages or warnings on the printer’s display or in the HP Smart app. Addressing these errors might resolve the issue.
Clean Print Heads and Perform Maintenance Tasks
- Perform maintenance tasks such as cleaning the print heads or aligning the printer. These options are usually available in the printer settings menu or through the HP Smart app.
Check Document Size and Format
- Large or complex documents can take longer to print. Try printing a simple text document to see if it prints faster. If it does, the issue might be related to the specific file or its format.
Reinstall the Printer
- As a last resort, you might want to completely remove the printer from your system and reinstall it. This can sometimes resolve underlying configuration issues.
By methodically going through these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue causing slow printing with your HP Office Jet 8015e.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
