@Les1950, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP OfficeJet 8015e is displaying a "problem with the printhead" message and is unable to print, you can follow these steps to try to resolve the issue:

Solution 1: Reset the Printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  3. Wait 60 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet and to the printer.
  5. Turn the printer back on if it does not power on automatically.

Solution 2: Remove and Reinsert the Printhead

  1. Press the Power button to turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Open the cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to stop moving.
  3. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Lift the carriage latch.
  5. Carefully remove the printhead and inspect it.
  6. Reinsert the printhead, ensuring that it fits snugly into place.
  7. Lower the carriage latch and close the access door.
  8. Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer on.

Solution 3: Clean the Printhead

  1. Ensure the printer is powered on.
  2. Open the HP Smart app on your device.
  3. Navigate to the printer management settings.
  4. Find the cleaning tool option to initiate the automatic cleaning process.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the cleaning cycle.

Solution 4: Align the Printhead

  1. Use the HP Smart app or printer control panel to access the alignment tool.
  2. Follow the instructions to align the printhead, which can sometimes resolve printhead errors.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
