Office Jet Pro 6978
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Brand new OfficeJet Pro 6978 printer with setup cartridges installed.  Documents with embedded photos look proper on screen but when printed the color images have a pinkish tint.  Flesh tones are pink, other colors are slighly washed in pink.

Have tried changing printer settings for proper paper and print quality- in normal paper setting with normal print quality the black and white text is crisp and clear black.  With Photo Paper setting and High Quality printing the black text has a pink tint.  In any setting images do not look correct.

What is issue and solution?

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

Please let us know the paper type, size and the brand you're using.

Let's clean the Printhead as it helps in clearing the nozzles:

  1. From the printer control panel, open the Setup  menu.

  2. Open the Printer Maintenance menu.

  3. If necessary, open the Tools menu, and then touch Clean Printhead.

    A test page prints.

Example of the printhead cleaning test page

  4. Examine the test page.

    • If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Clean Again to continue the next level of cleaning. If necessary, repeat these steps for the third cleaning cycle.

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!
