HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Last night found that the printer had this blue screen with the code B82F6814  with the power sign. I was able to push the power button on the front of the printer and get it to restart but wanted to know if this is the start of a fatal error. The machine is only 1 year old and hasn't been used very much to print so wear should not be an issue; I just replaced the included color print cartridges about a month ago. Only about 450 pages printed.

There seem to be several similar errors in the support search with little real answer to what the problem is. There seemed to be consensus between them that this was a fatal error and that resetting the machine by paying down only worked for a short time. "Sometimes not even pushing the button will help, you have to unplug the thing. Not sure what's going on."

@Dktrchoco

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting a B82F6814 error, I am glad to assist you.

This is not a fatal error, If the printer is turned on and working fine then no issues with the printer.

For safer side, update the printer firmware to install the latest updates:-

Here are the steps:- Click here

Perform a power reset , Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Keep me posted.

If this helps, please mark the public post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
