I came here looking for a solution. My computer won't print to the thing (HP OfficeJet Pro 8035) because it has either a printer is offline message, when it isn't, and is only due to my downloading the HP Smart app on two devices other than my desktop, or it says it is in an "Error State".

The Error State is because of the paper not being snugged up for 8.5"x11", which I read nothing about remedying in the instructions, but perhaps I didn't look closely enough, I don't know. I watched multiple videos and never saw that part, either.

If I do push small, unmarked and easy-to-miss button that moves the front of the tray forward, and move the tray where it holds the paper well, it doesn't click in place when I replace the tray to print.

It slides all the way up to where the paper would jam if I tried printing, and makes the paper bowed inside. I can feel that by the pressure and sound of the paper pushing back on the front of the tray.

If I try to cover it with the lid, the lid is not secure on anything, but is loose, and easily knocked free.

These things, seriously, boggle the mind. The plastic feels as if it will break, just opening the thing. I have never in my life worked with such poorly designed equipment. I just paid a lot for this last month at Best Buy, and they only had a 15 day return policy, or I would have taken it back this week!

It also takes exactly four minutes to scan each page of my artwork at 1200 dpi. That seems a bit excessive, yes? I mean, I am happy with the fact that I can scan at all, in my own home, but, the colors are way off, with only the bare minimum adjustments possible in HP Smart, unless I buy photo editing software for that, and then I will be adding that much more time to my projects to edit them in different software.

I am usually an extremely patient and understanding person, but this printer has had me in a bad mood since I brought it home.
