OfficeJet Pro 8620 - Missing or Failed Printhead is VERY likely a firmware problem and not a printhead problem.  I have now done every option including the HP cleaning kit. I have taken it to a professional repair shop.  The shop was able to 'resolve' the issue and it worked perfectly for another week till the error reappeared.  I then did the same steps the shop did and was unable to get thru to resolution so I watched multiple videos of how to resolve and one of them worked.  Printer worked for two weeks and today it's right back to dead in the water Missing or Failed Printhead.  As much as the web lists this problem it's obvious HP is aware of it yet has not cared enough to send a firmware update. It's not a printhead problem else workarounds wouldn't be able to resolve it, albeit temporarily.  I guess HP hopes we just replace the printer with another HP which won't happen.  I have $200 worth of ink since one of my first actions was to completely replace every cartridge despite all showing there was ink.  PS I have TWO of the exact printers and somehow this issue exists with BOTH right now. I have swapped out printheads between the two to no avail.
