Microsoft Windows 11

We have installed new  genuine, 952XL ink cartridges and receive the incompatibility error, and this accompanying picture.

The firmware is up to date, print head has been cleaned, and we've tried restarting it.

Is this a scheme by HP to force purchase of a new printer?

We checked if the ink cartridges were properly inserted in the printer. They are.

We inserted the old/alternate ink cartridges, and the error resolved, only to have it reappear once the new cartridges were inserted.

Since the cartridges are defective, we will return to Costco and exchange them.

Thanks

If the error persists, it could be the printer that has gone bad.

@EurekaWard, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand the printer is not accepting the replacement ink cartridge. Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Check if the ink cartridges are properly inserted in the printer, you may refer to - Replace HP inkjet printer cartridges

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - Ink cartridge error

Insert the old/alternate ink cartridge(if available) and check if the error persists. If not, then the new one is defective.

If the error persists, it could be the printer that has gone bad.
