Hi @Jpope007,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding print quality issues on the HP OfficeJet Pro 8725!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Printhead Cleaning:
- Use the printer's built-in cleaning function to clean the printheads. This can be done from the printer's control panel under the “Printer Maintenance” menu.
- Perform multiple cleaning cycles if necessary, as ink deposits can sometimes cause persistent quality issues.
Align Printheads:
- Alignment issues can lead to poor print quality. Use the printhead alignment tool from the printer’s maintenance menu to ensure the printheads are correctly positioned.
Check Ink Levels:
- Confirm that all ink cartridges are full and properly installed. Even if they are new, checking for any installation errors is essential.
Examine and Clean Nozzles:
- Inspect the nozzles under the cartridges for any clogs or debris. Clean them gently with a lint-free cloth and distilled water.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Updates can resolve many technical glitches related to print quality.
Use High-Quality Paper:
- Poor quality paper can affect print results. Ensure that you are using recommended paper types for your printer, such as HP-branded paper.
Test with Different Applications:
- Sometimes the software used to print can affect print quality. Test printing from different applications to rule out software-specific issues.
Reinstall Printer Driver:
- An outdated or corrupted printer driver can cause printing problems. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your OfficeJet Pro 8725.
Visual Inspection and Manual Cleaning:
- Check the inside of the printer for any visible obstructions or debris that might interfere with the print process.
- Conduct a manual cleaning of key areas highlighted in your printer manual, ensuring no loose ink or paper shreds are present.
I hope this helps.
