Hi @paniklaw,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are getting an error message B83C0E74 on your HP Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
We need to perform a Semi full reset to restore the printer back to its original settings.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

Same issue here, my HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 screen turned blue and displayed error code B83C0E74, after weeks of a mysterious flashing white screen after the printer being idle for short times and then I turned power off for days

Could you please send me the semi full reset instructions for the 8730, or are you working on a firmware update or something? Power off/on is a temporary fix to print but this frequent issue is annoying. Today I powered the 8730 off and on again, checked for updates, ran HP Smart > Diagnose & Fix and got "Printer Offline issue fixed" but within about 3 hours, the blue screen B83C0E74 returned.
I'm also seeing (2) "Cartridges Depleted" and don't want to buy more ink until this flashing white (now blue) screen issue is resolved, because so far it looks like I might need a new printer (I hope not because my 8730 has light use but it's big and heavy).
