My OfficeJet went completely hinky essentially overnight some time ago, and I am trying to get it running again.  The only displayed error message is set forth above.

What is the nature of this error?  A google search provides zero positive matches with that error code.

One of the ink cartridges is depleted, but I do not want to replace it (ridiculously expensive) if the machine is dead.  So I decided to test the machine with a scan instead.

It turns on OK, but it will not do anything else correctly.  It communicates fine with my network and can see the folder on the server to which I am trying to save the scan.  When I start the scan, it says that the scan is beginning, but it then locks-up and does nothing (no lights on the platen or anything).  It is impossible to get out of that lockup without turning the machine off and staring over.

HI

The error is related to scanner on the unit

You can try and do a power drain on the unit by doing the reset

Once the unit is on and not making initialising noise disconnect the power cable

Leave for 60 seconds

Reconnect the power cable and wait for it to Initialise - If the unit does not power on automatically press power button

Check whether the issue gets resolved - If error persists Unit Might need servicing

I had already tried the hard boot that you described, several times.

I bought the unit at Best Buy, as I recall.  Can I take it there for service?

If the unit is in warranty please call HP Support and you should be able to get it serviced
