I'm on my 2nd officejet 3830 in two days. Carriage jam stating something may be in the printer. There is nothing there! I'm frustrated as there has to be an easy solution as to why this is happening a 2nd time. Help!

Welcome to the HP Forums, this is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are getting carriage jam issue on HP OfficeJet 3830 printer. I would like to help you resolve this issue.
However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,
Did you do any hardware or software changes?
Meanwhile
Remove and then reinstall the ink cartridges
Improper placement or installation of the ink cartridges might cause the printer to indicate a carriage jam error. To make sure the ink cartridges are installed correctly, remove and reinstall the ink cartridges, and then try to print again.

Press the Power button to turn on the printer, if it is not already on.

Open the exterior door.

Open the ink cartridge access door.
The ink cartridge carriage moves to the center of the printer. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent before you continue.

Lightly press down on each ink cartridge to release it.

Pull each ink cartridge toward you out of its slot.
CAUTION:
Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles. Touching these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.

Slide each ink cartridge at a slightly upward angle into the empty slot, and then gently push up on each cartridge until it snaps into place.

Close the ink cartridge access door.

Close the exterior door.

Try to print.
Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet

Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

Unplug the power cord from any power strips or surge suppressors.

Plug the power cord directly into an electrical outlet.

Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

Turn on the printer.
Reset the printer
-
Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
-
Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
-
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
-
Wait at least 60 seconds.
-
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE:
HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

Turn on the printer,
