Dear good and knowledgeable people of the community, please help.

My printer will not power up and displays various different error codes e.g. 0XBA65D302, 0XBOO22B9D when the power button is pressed.

It is currently displaying 0XB8025E30 with a flashing power button. After pressing the power button, it looks like it's going through some initiation (on the screen only) to start the printer then displays yet another error code, this time 0XB065D39A.  Press the power button again and after the usual initiation on the screen, usually a different error code appears, this time 0XB002319A.

After deciding I would deal with the error code situation today, I unplugged the power, reconnected it and nothing! No power up on the screen, nothing. I tested the lead and it had power.  I did all the HP suggestions to discover there is a green LED illuminated in the machine for the internal power supply. Then it suggested changing the power lead which I did and to my amazement the power came back on.  I have absolutely no idea what difference it makes between two identical power leads both with 230 volts a/c, but the screen illuminated.

So, I've been through all the rigmarole of power leads, trying to reset the printer and followed everything carefully but still no working printer.  At no time throughout these procedures has the printer made any sound; the ink cartridge gallery doesn't move, there are none of the usual printer 'warming up' noises, nothing!

The machine is hardly ever used, but just prior to this problem the colour cartridge needed replacing. The replacement messed things up, saying it didn’t recognise the cartridge blah blah blah!  In it now, are two brand new HP cartridges.  I got as far as printing the test page, doing the alignment scan and then left it.

Without further intervention, error codes appeared and that’s where I am now.

I’ve also seen REFLASH 12345 on the screen if that means anything to anyone!

Does anyone know if this is fixable please, or is it going out of the window?

Many thanks in anticipation

@BigWigg,

  • Is the printer connected on a WiFi network?
  • Does the error go off if you remove the ink cartridges?

Let's try these steps:

Step 1: Power Reset

  • If the printer is connected to a WiFi, turn off the WiFi.
  • Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector.
  • Turn the printer on.
  • Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Wait at least 60 seconds
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  • Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  • Try making a copy and check if it works.
  • Now turn on the WiFi and check if you can print/copy.

Step 2: Update the printer firmware

  • Refer to this link to update the printer firmware.
  • Once the update is complete, try to print/copy

Also, try using the printer with just 1 ink cartridge in the printer.

  • Remove any 1 of the ink and check if the printer functions with just 1 ink cartridge
  • Try to make a copy/print
  • Try swapping the inks and check if you can print with the other ink in a single cartridge mode

Let me know what happens.

Hello Atharva_gp

Thank you for your answer.

Although I had done all the things you suggested many times, ‘Step 2: Update the printer firmware’ told me to me plug the USB cable in to try to download the firmware etc.

Amazingly, plugging in the USB cable brought the printer back to life.

I installed the firmware and it appears to be working fine so it’s not going out the window now!

Many thanks.
