Officejet 6500 E710n-z printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My hp Officejet 6500 E710n-z printer is not printing documents from my PC but will copy documents placed in the printer's input tray. I have it set up as a network printer with a wifi modem in another room. I have used Control Panel, right clicked the Printer image and done the trouble-shooting, checked the driver (it is the latest) and the Control Panel tells me the document  is printing but nothing is happening. I am trying to print word documents with margins of 0.5cms. I tried with 0cm margins and some printed and some didn't which is why I have changed the margins to 0.5cms. I receive a warning that the print area exceeds the margins and that some of the document will be lost but that doesn't matter to me as I am printing a table and want to cut the paper along the grid lines.

@Marmalade2,

It sounds like it could be an issue with that document, the settings or with Word. Are you able to print from other applications/programs?

Hi @Marmalade2,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! 🙂 I see you are running into some printing issues when printing to your HP Officejet 6500A Plus. When you send a print job you see it send but nothing is printed. You are using the Windows 10 Operating system and have performed some online recommendations with no success.

I would like you to continue troubleshooting here: Printer is Offline (Windows)

What are the results? Are you now able to print from your Computer?

Let me know the outcome. If this resolves the issue please let others know by marking this post as "Accept as Solution".  To simply say thanks, click the "Thumbs up" below!  🙂  If you require further assistance let me know and I will gladly do all I can to help.

The printer is not offline. I ran the HP Support Solutions Framework and the message was 'no solutions'. At some point I was asked if I wanted to print a test page and I was able to do that but when I tried to print the document I wanted, it again says that it is jprinting but it is not.

I have a modem upstairs which is cabled to broadband and a computer with a wireless device attached to it downstairs. The printer is connected by a yellow cable directly to the computer. It is not a USB connection from the printer to the computer.  I have tried disconnecting the yellow cable and linking the printer to the modem using wireless connection and the wizard on the printer but the printer then shows up on my computer's control panel as off line.

I have used the printer for many months with the yellow cable directly joining printer and computer and have had no problems. Could it be because the margins of my document are smaller than Windows' narrow margin setting?

When I delete a document which the computer says is printing but it isn't, it takes a very long time to do this. I am frequently shutting down my computer and restarting to see if that will help but so far no good.

Thanks for your help HevnLgh. The issue seems to be resolved. I ended up with a message about queuing and then spooling and the possibility that my document had become corrupted. After unplugging power cords and reconnecting etc I eventually was able to print other documents but I can't print the original document.
