After switching printer from another computer and router the printer refuses to connect wirelessly. On the printer I can select my network, but the printer will not accept the router passphrase located on the bottom of the router. This passphrase works on all other devices to date. MAC Filtering is disabled on the router. H E L P!

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand, you're unable to connect the printer to wireless,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Do you get any error message while trying to connect to Wi-Fi?

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

To reset the printer's network settings

1. Touch Network, touch Restore Network Defaults, and then select Yes.

A message appears stating that the network defaults have been restored.

Once completed, try connecting your printer to network:

Connect the printer to the wireless network

Follow these steps to connect the product to your wireless WLAN 802.11 network.

  1. On the product control panel, touch the Right Arrow (), and then touch Network.

  2. Touch Wireless, touch Wireless Setup Wizard and then touch OK.

  3. Touch the name of your network.

If the list does not contain your network name, follow these steps to enter it manually:

    1. Touch Enter New Network Name (SSID).

    2. On the on-screen keyboard, touch the appropriate letters and numbers to enter the network name (SSID).  NOTE: Make sure that you enter the uppercase (capital) and lowercase (small) letters exactly. Otherwise, the wireless connection fails.

  4. When you finish entering the new network name, touch Done, and then touch OK.

  5. Touch Infrastructure, and then touch WEP encryption or WPA encryption.

If you do not want to use encryption (a security password), touch No, my network does not use encryption, and then go to step 5, "Make sure that the product successfully connects to the network."

  6. If prompted, enter the WEP or WPA key:

    1. Touch the appropriate letters or numbers on the on-screen keyboard. NOTE: You must enter the exact uppercase and lowercase letters. Otherwise, the wireless connection fails.

    2. When you are finished entering the WEP key or WPA key, touch Done, and then touch OK to confirm.

The product attempts to connect to the network.

  7. Make sure that the product successfully connects to the network.

NOTE: If a connection error message displays, make sure that the network name and security key are correct, and then follow the prompts to enter the information again.

Keep me posted,

For I shall follow-up on this case to ensure the concern has been addressed,

And your device is up and running again,

Have a great day 🙂

Cheers 🙂
